Braun Intertec was retained by a full-service national real estate firm focused on mixed-use and daily use properties to prepare a plan to assist in re-occupancy of non-essential business, a cleaning and disinfection of their properties. We also prepared educational materials for their employees, tenants and public customers. The Client owns and manages a portfolio of 20 mixed-use properties ranging from enclosed shopping malls to open-air complexes varying in size from 200,000 ft2to 2mil ft2
Braun Intertec prepared a holistic plan and approach to re-occupying the various facilities they manage, including their corporate offices located in Fort Worth, Texas. The Client wanted a plan that outlined what their employees, tenants, janitorial staffs, and customers can expect upon re-occupancy. BIC developed a plan that contained safe work or best practices based on the various types of tenants, and a cleaning and disinfection approach for the offices and common. Educational materials were aimed at each level: employees, tenants, janitorial staff, and customers. The plan was made based on the most recent information and guidance out of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), COVID-19 taskforce, and other reputable resources.
The Client had the health and safety of their employees, tenants, janitorial staff, and customers in mind and wanted them to feel safe and welcome when their properties re-open. The Client recognized that disinfection of surfaces, while laborious and expensive, represented a positive measure that could be implemented under controlled conditions, whereas the post-opening behavior of staff and patrons are somewhat less predictable or controllable. Educational posters will be posted throughout their facilities stating that they are cleaning and disinfecting their facilities for their customers and reminding them that in order to “flatten the curve” they need to be responsible and practice social distancing.
Braun Intertec also developed a pre-recorded video message with cleaning and disinfection guidance that will be shared with their janitorial staff to re-iterate the essentials and outline the protocols for property cleaning and disinfection.
