We recently spoke with Gene Murray to learn more about his new role as Vice President of Sales at Braun Intertec. We asked Gene about his background, what his favorite part of his role is, and what he feels makes Braun Intertec unique.

I am the Vice President of Sales, so my team is responsible for bringing in new clients to the company.

I received a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Earth Science from the University of South Dakota. I’ve also received a master’s degree in Hydrogeology from the University of Nebraska, and a master’s in Marketing from the University of Texas at Dallas. I’m a licensed Geologist in Texas, Louisiana and Nebraska. I’ve conductedenvironmentalprojects for a large portion of my career, and eventually became more invested in the business side of the world.
几年前，当我管理伴侣时W&M Environmental Group(now a division of Braun Intertec), I got really interested in the changing demographics of our clients since many management roles were now being filled by Gen Xers and Millennials. We realized that the way they bought things and did business was much different than previous generations. So, for awhile now, our team has focused intensely on digital marketing and lead generation to better drive sales. Now that we have joined up with Braun Intertec, it’s been exciting to see how W&M’s lead-generation processes have integrated with the digital marketing efforts already in place at Braun Intertec.
What is your favorite aspect of your role or the most rewarding part of what you do at Braun Intertec?
I enjoy connecting new clients and project work with our technical staff. It’s always an adrenaline boost when we get a project from someone we’ve never heard of. And to then see that work take off and new relationships flourish between our clients and our staff, that’s what makes it so rewarding. We’ve had all sorts of projects come in: whether its working with aerospace companies or large shipping companies, it’s exciting to know that our team gets to work on such interesting and unique projects.
What is your favorite thing about working at Braun Intertec? What do you feel makes it unique?

If they are in a technical position, whether they are an engineer, a technician or a scientist, they should work on getting their certifications and licenses. The earlier in your career that you can do that, the better, as it will only set you up for future success.

I live right across the street from our Country Club, so any free time I have I will spend it out there golfing with my wife and friends. If I’m not doing that, then we’ll be at a beach with our daughters and puppy or watching the Cowboys/Mavericks.
