Community Engagement

Community support for development projects is often critical in delivering a project on time. Without community support, developers can find themselves with hefty legal costs, or possibly even termination of the project. Federal and state permitting agencies often require opportunities for the public to be involved early in project, especially if there are environmental justice (EJ) concerns.

We help you anticipate potential concerns and questions so that you can prepare community engagement plans that offer the best chance of success. This includes:

  • Formal public notice documents required for Environmental Review (ER) and permitting processes.
  • Public comment response plans, which includes comment tracking and drafting of responses.
  • Environmental justice maps to determine whether your project falls within a defined EJ area.
  • Public meeting plans (including location logistics, agenda creation, public comment collection, emcee needs, etc.).
  • Pre-project community engagement plans. These plans will identify key interested groups, and suggest proven methods to understand concerns and build support for the project.

Braun Intertec is experienced in developing effective community engagement plans that generate positive community responses. We help companies gain support and maintain strong relationships with local governments, advocacy groups, tribal governments and community members.
